The Zonal Director, Federal Radio Cooperation of Nigeria (FRCN) Kaduna, Mal Buhari Auwalu, has said the National Open University of Nigeria has provided means that have direct effect on individuals’ developments in service delivery.
Auwalu stated this when an advocacy campaign by the Kaduna Study Centre paid a visit to the management and staff of the zonal office.
He said there was “no doubt the university has in its wisdom serves as a panacea through which the review of the civil service rules on qualification is achieved easily due to its mode of delivery.”
The zonal director applauded the centre for the visit and further explained that his office was supposed to beg the National Open University of Nigeria for the sensitisation, not the other way round.
He urged the staff of the Radio Nigeria zonal office to quickly enroll in order to upgrade their education and acquire more certificates.
He added that this is the best time for them to tap the opportunity placed at their doorsteps.
Auwalu promised to provide an air time for the centre so as to reach more audience.
Earlier in his address, the centre director, Kaduna Study Centre, Mr. Yusuf Abdullahi thanked the management of the Radio Nigeria zonal office for creating a moment for the audience and interaction.
He said due to the sheer demand of the university, NOUN has 103 study centres across the federation.
The National Open University of Nigeria is anchored under three philosophies of flexibility, affordability and accessibility, he said.
Speaking on the admission requirements and procedures, Abdullahi outlined that a candidate must have five O-level credits, which include Mathematics and English Language and the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board is not part of the requirement for admission.
