The National Open University of Nigeria Alumni Association (NOUNAA), Jigawa State Chapter, has congratulated the newly appointed Dutse Study Centre director, Dr. Ahmad Tanimu Mahmud, on his appointment as the new centre director.

The body also pledged its support with a view to uplifting the centre and the university at large to a greater height.

The chairman of the state’s chapter, Mallam Mohammed Bello, who led a delegation to the centre, said the association deemed it necessary to welcome the new director and also to create a enabling environment for maintaining the good relationship existing with the centre.

This, he said, will no doubt help encourage the new helmsman to further improve on the current advocacy activities the association has been conducting in the state.

Bello further assured that the association will continue to educate people in the state about the existence of the university and the endless opportunities it brings to the people's doors steps.

He pleaded for an office space as the one previously allocated to them formed part of the section affected by inferno that engulfed the centre, recently.

Responding, the director assured them of his willingness to work with them so as to contribute towards attaining the ultimate goals the university set to achieve.

He promised to provide all the necessary support the association would need from the centre in order to bolster its activities.

A befitting office for the day-to-today running of the association will surely be provided once the centre secures the space it is courting, said Mahmoud.

The director thanked the delegation for the visit and assured them of his supports.
