Asaga-Ohafia Community Study Centre receives NUC team

A high-powered delegation of National Universities Commission (NUC),headed by Prof. Valentine Ekechukwu, has visited Asaga Ohafia Community Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Abia State.

Ekechukwu, accompanied by Mrs. Rita Kenny-Ugwu and Mr. Matthew Esene, stated that the essence of their visit was to ensure resource verification and quality assurance at the centre.

He also expressed satisfaction regarding the cooperation among staff and the achievements recorded by the centre.

Some areas that are in dire need of attention, according to Ekechukwu, include the provision of physical library, laboratory facility, borehole, and the need of additional computer systems and filing cabinets.

Responding, the director, Dr. Nkata U. Kalu, applauded the NUC team for the visit and expressed the university management's willingness to implement the team's observations. 

Earlier, the NUC team had paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Traditional Ruler, HRM, the Ezeogo of Asaga Ohafia, Eze Emmanuel Kalu, led by the President-General, Asaga Ohafia Development Union, Mr. Chidi Uma Obasi, and accompanied by the Chairman, Education Committee of the community, Mr. Ivan Anya.
