The Ilaro Community Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), has celebrated its pioneer graduate, Mrs. Omolara Judith Egungbohun, who graduated during the recent 12th Convocation Ceremony of the university.

Egungbohun was also one of the award winners in the Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration and therefore attended the ceremony at the university headquarters in Abuja.

Consequently, the study centre management, led by the Ag. director, Mr. Moses Ayokunle Ola and his members of staff organised a warm reception for the celebrant and her family members.

In his opening remark, Ola congratulated the awardee for her doggedness while undertaking the postgraduate programme at NOUN.

He informed the guests that lazy students can not sail through the university as there is no room for a short-cut to graduation.

"Every successful student of the university is studious and attempts assignments, and examinations as and when due," he said.

The director said Mrs. Omolara, despite being busy at home and office, was found worthy both in character and learning, worthy of emulation by other students at the centre.

The director also expressed his appreciation to the amiable husband of the awardee and the chief executive of IBD International Hotel, Alhaji Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun, who has been her motivator and stood beside her in the course of her education.

While sharing her experience, Omolara claimed that NOUN is not a mushroom university where students take study with levity, as she highlighted various challenges in the course of studying but was determined to accomplish success which everyone is now celebrating.

She said, "sincerely that success would not have come without the help of God and support from my husband."

Egungbohun added that she has already been offered admission into a master's programme at the university.
