Plateau youths congratulate Butswat

Sequel to his contributions to the development of his state, the Plateau State youths under the auspices of Coalition of Plateau State Indigenous Ethnic Nationalities (CPSIEN), has congratulated the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Prof. Isaac Sammani Butswat on his appointment as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University.

The Chairman, Comrade Diket Joshua Paul, led the executives of the group on a visit to Prof. Butswat on Monday, December 12, 2022 in his office at the headquarters of the university, Jabi, Abuja.

While presenting the congratulatory message to Butswat, the chairman said "this elevation did not come as a surprise due to your track record as an achiever.

"This new position will surely bring out the best in you as you take your stand, taking this institution to a higher ground. Once again, congratulations and we celebrate with you."

Speaking further, Paul affirmed that Butswat is one of the elders of Plateau State that has helped youths in different capacities, adding that Butswat's generosity has propelled them to come and congratulate him.

Responding, Prof. Butswat,  while thanking his visitors for the visit, said "as you are working quietly, people are looking at you, whether you like it or not, forming opinion about you."

He said he felt encouraged to do what he has been doing.

Butswat, who took time off to narrate his contributions to social organisations and religious bodies, urged his visitors to continue in the association to foster unity by doing their best and think of what can help the state as a whole.

While dedicating his congratulatory card to the Vice-Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Olufemi Peters,  Butswat thanked the VC for creating an enabling environment for "us to make progress and for the institution to grow.

"So personally, I dedicate all the awards I get during his tenure to him. He is behind the scene for all the successes. He has been very cooperative and I remain grateful to him."
