Staff Movement: Quartet of directors assume office in North-central

Four directors in the North-central region affected by the recent management’s leadership changes at some study centres across the country, have assumed duties at their various centres .

The Special Study Centre for the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Garki II, Abuja; Ogori Community Study Centre, Kogi State; Jos Study Centre, Plateau state and Isanlu Community Study Centre, Kogi State, were affected by the posting, as signed by the Registrar of the university, Mr. Oladipo Ajayi.

As a result, the affected staff have since assumed duties at their new offices.

At the NURTW centre, Dr. Madu Baba Galadima, handed over the leadership of the centre on February 12, 2024 to Dr. Paul Ifeanyi, who is now the Ag. director of the centre.

Galadima assured the new director that he was going to enjoy his work at the centre as the crop of staff  are hard-working and cooperative when it comes to centre's management.

On his part, Ifeanyi thanked the outgoing director for his steadfast and good management of the centre he was handing over to him. 

Similarly, Associate Professor Caroline Aturu-Aghedo has handed over affairs of the Ogori Community Study Centre on Thursday, February 15, 2024 to Mr. Oluwafemi Joseph Apata, who will be in charge of affairs as the Ag. director.

The outgoing director, Aturu-Aghedo, prayed that his tenure will be filled with peace, progress and development, as she enjoined all staff of the study centre to give him same maximum cooperation, support and loyalty.

In the same vein, the management and staff of Jos Study Centre on Monday, February 19, 2024, received the new Ag. Director, Mr. Bulama S. Mshelia, who assumed duty at the centre.

The Principal Assistant Registrar (PAR), Mrs. Mary O. Okpanachi, who stood in for the outgoing director, welcomed him to the centre and assured him of staff’s willingness and dedication to duty. 

She officially handed over to the new director, pledging to work alongside him to ensure that work goes on smoothly.

The new director immediately held a meeting with staff where he urged them to imbibe proper work ethics in the discharge of their duties and encouraged them to give in their best and avoid all forms of negativity that could affect their work. 

The Isanlu Community Study Centre, Yagba-east Local Government Area, Kogi State, also witnessed change in its leadership as Prof. Florence F. Fatimayin, handed over to Mr. Kunle Amusan as the new Ag. director on February 19, 2024.

In her farewell speech, the outgoing director appreciated God for the grace to have served in the capacity as the director of the centre and urged the incoming director to engage in massive advocacy to increase the student population.

Fatimayin admonished the staff to work in harmony with the incoming director as he is an experienced and seasoned councillor. 

Responding, Amusan, who prioritised massive advocacy for the centre, thanked his predecessor and promised to continue from where she stopped in the advancement of the centre, and for the progress of the university at large.
