NOUN-IMILI to hold virtual workshop on Media, Information Literacy

As part of activities to mark the Global Media & Information Literacy Week, the National Open University of Nigeria -International Media and Information Literacy Institute (NOUN-IMILI) will hold a one-day virtual workshop to enhance the global influence of media and information literacy in new media use among the youth.  

The workshop will also focus on the future of Media Information Literacy (MIL), how to transform lives and what role an individual can play to maximise present and future opportunities in MIL.

The virtual workshop, which revolves around the theme: New Frontiers: How Media and Information Literacy is Transforming Lives, is scheduled to hold on November 15, 2024 by 4pm (Lagos/GMT+1) virtually.

According to the institute’s Ag. Director, the workshop is a collaborative effort of the International Media and Information Literacy Institute-Nigeria (IMILI-Nigeria), Media Awareness and Information for all Network (MAIN), Trully Verify Africa, Light-up Africa Development Institute (LADI) and International Media & Information Literacy Inter-cultural Dialogue Foundation (MILID).

Meanwhile, the workshop will feature professional discussants in media and information literacy across the globe:  Dr. Seyi Soremeku, National Information Officer, United Nations Information Centre (UNIC); Ruhamah Ifere, founder, Trully Verify Africa and Enodi Audu, Senior Software Engineer, as speakers
