Following his appointment as the Ag. Director of the newly created Ilaro Community Study Centre, Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State, Mr. Moses Ayokunle Ola has paid a courtesy visit to the Palace of the Ilaro Monarch, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, the Paramount King of Yewa Land.

The familiarisation visit, which took place on Monday, August 22, 2022 was to intimate the paramount king and his cabinet of the new study centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) in the community, said Ola.

Acording to him, the centre was created to benefit the people of Yewa Land, saying that “The study centre is close to your doorstep to attain accessible education without any difficulties. Just as this centre, NOUN has over hundred study centres across the nation.

In his response, the monarch thanked the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, and the entire management team who made the community's dream a reality.

I am sincerely grateful to the management. The community has almost lost hope on the creation of a study centre. I have waited for over 10 years as the journey (to establish the centre) started in 2011,he said.

The Oba, therefore, appealed for the immediate commencement of academic activities at the centre as his people cannot wait to start coming out for registration.

The monarch gave his assurances of support and cooperation towards the new study centre.

In furtherance of his familiarisation with stakeholders, the director also held a meeting with the High Chiefs and facilitators, even as he inspected facilities, as the identified inadequacies were agreed to be put in place.

Meanwhile, prospective students that visited the centre were given assurances that their academic needs would be adequately handled by the centre, in one hand and the university management in general.
