Adegboyega calls on government’s support to inmates programmes

The Director, Abeokuta Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Dr. Oyekunle Adegboyega, has called on governments support to make tertiary education accessible by expanding rehabilitation programmes at the correctional facilities nation wide.

Dr. Adegboyega made the plea when he led the convocation of 13 inmates at the Abeokuta Correctional Service Examination Centre, Ogun State.

He emphasised NOUN’s mission to make education accessible and called for more government’s support to expand rehabilitation programmes at the correctional centers across the country.

The event showcased NOUN’s successes in using education to offer a second chance for those who seek knowledge. 

The Comptroller of Nigeria Correctional Service for Ogun State, Chief Olusola Adeoye, representative the Olowu of Owu, the Hon. Commissioner of Education, and the State Coordinator for NECO, the representative of the national coordinator of NOUN Correctional Centres were among the dignitaries present at the event

The Controller of Nigeria Correctional Service and Oluwo of Owu were full of praises to NOUN Management for the privilege extended to the inmates.
