The National Open University of Nigeria, African Centre of Excellence on Technology Enhanced Learning (NOUN’s-ACETEL), in collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the African Centre of Excellence in Mathematics, Computer Sciences and Applications (ACE-SMIA), University of Abomey-Calavi, Republic of Benin will jointly hold a 3-day workshop on Cyber Security and Digitalization.
The workshop with the theme ‘Harnessing Cyber Security Strategies for Accelerating Digitalisation in West Africa,’ is slated to hold between Tuesday 29th – Thursday 31st March, 2022, by 9.a.m,at the Convocation Arena NOUN headquarters,Jabi,Abuja.
The workshop is geared towards enabling participants to access and identify the gaps in the existing digitalisation services across the sub region, gain in-depth understanding of latest trends and best practices to effectively communicate research results of digitalised cybersecurity, Build relevant partnership for research development in full digitalisation of cybersecurity related issues among others.
A hybrid blended mode of presentation will be adopted as mode of delivery in English with simultaneous translation in French.
Resource persons would be drawn from diverse sector and industry with hands on session and tips on cyber-smartness, using block chain technology for carrying out secure digital transaction.
At the end of the workshop, participants will be equipped with knowledge to promote information security and control mechanisms for the protection and safety of Nigeria and Benin’s infrastructures operating in cyber space, identify and promote cyber security innovations through research and development in partnership with industry and academia among other benefits.
