A delegation from the headquarters of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), led by the DVC Admin., Prof. Isaac Butswat, on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 has paid an unscheduled visit to Owerri Study Centre, Imo State.

The surprised visit came shortly after the team had successfully inspected and took possession of the ceded NOUN facility in Ossah Ibeku, Umuahia North Local Government Area, Abia State.

Butswat, who represented the VC, Prof. Olufemi Peters, was accompanied by the Registrar, Mr. Oladipo Ajayi and the Director, Learner Support Service (LSS), Dr. Sefinat Omuya.

While addressing the centre's staff, Butswat commended them for working hard and cooperating with the new Centre Director.

He further advised them to maintain a friendly but firm relationship with students as they are the reason for the university's existence.

Also speaking, the Registrar, Mr. Oladipo Ajayi, advised the staff to be passionate, serious and committed to their duties, adding that staff at the centre are representatives of the university, as such, they should always attend to the needs of the students regularly.

He extolled the new Director, Dr. Juliana Ndunagu, for the visible transformation in the entire premises since she assumed office, reiterating that all staff should work hand-in-hand to make Owerri the best of all study centres.

On her part, Dr. Ndunagu thanked the team for paying them such a visit and prayed for journey mercies back to their destinations.
