The Director, Oka- Akoko Community Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Dr. Joseph B. Oyadeyi has welcomed four alumni members of the centre, who donated a hand mower to the centre.
Leader of the quartet, Mr. Samuel A. Ogunleye, during his comments, commended the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters and the entire management of the university for providing the platform for educational advancement for the willing individuals.
The visitors also thanked the centre director and the entire staff for all the assistance rendered during their studies at NOUN.
They took turns to reminiscence the experiences during their studentship at the study centre.
The quartet reiterated that their coming to NOUN was one of the best decisions they ever made, despite the initial scepticism of being the first set of students in a new centre.
Ogunleye appreciated the way the director and staff administered the affairs of the centre without exploiting students.
In their little way of giving back to the centre, the brand-new motorised hand mower was presented to the centre, even as they pledged to do more in the future.
Oyadeyi, in his reaction, appreciated the kind gesture towards the centre, saying that "It was very thoughtful of you to have come with this kind of gift at a time when the centre premises are rapidly overgrown with weeds due to the shortage of manpower."
He encouraged them to continue to be good ambassadors and advocates of NOUN and blessed them with prayers.
The donors were: Mr. Samuel A. Ogunleye, Rt. Rev. Emmanuel A. Akinrodoye (The lord Bishop of Akoko/Idoani Diocese of the African Church), Mr. Bamidele Ajimoko, Mrs. Vera O. Adaramaja, Mallam Omosebiola Adisa Kazeem and Mrs. Oluwatosin Adeyemo.
