Cultivation of integrity in the practice of law as well as being honest and honourable as possible at any moment makes upcoming lawyers standout amongst other law practioners, the Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Lagos branch, Mr Ikechukwu Uwanna, Esq has said.
The Legal luminary stated this while delivering his speech titled "legal regime for young wigs" at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Law Students Association (LAWSA) Premium Legal Summit cum 2022 Awards Presentation held on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at the NOUN Lagos Study Centre.
"Dress the way you want to be addressed, choose wisely on the different law practices and know how to find a purpose and calling in the practice students are settling for," he added.
Ikechukwu also emphasised on mentorship and networking the development of knowledge in the field of law and understanding the application of law which they are being thought.
The chairman urged the students to use the knowledge acquired from the practice passionately as it is one thing that cannot be taken away when used wisely and can make someone become a good lawyer.
He further advised them to have a good understanding of the law and how it should be applied in their everyday job.
The president, LAWSA Lagos Chapter, Hon. Onadeko Damilola Edward (comrade)in his own address, stated the the premium Legal summit is all about mentoring students on how to be real professionals in the practice of law, networking, learning and a true display of honesty in the practice of law.
Hon. Onadeko also stressed that the summit will expose students to the opportunities in the legal profession and the needed skills to excel upon joining the profession.
He also emphasised on the need for the young wigs to be passionate about the practice of law as one hundred of his income came from the practice, he added.

Onadeko also solicited for freewill donations to erect the prime goddess statue at the NOUN Lagos study (former headquarters) to depict the presence of law property and to project the institution in good image.
In her own contribution, Director of Lagos study centre, Dr Alero Akujobi encouraged the law students to be more focused and aim for the best in the practice of law as it takes only the best to be a learned lawyer.
Members of LAWSA EXCO. Legal Professionals, Lagos SCD, Law students among others graced the event.
Meanwhile, awards were presented to the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Lagos branch by Dr. Akujobi, with other students in attendance.
