The Directorate for Entrepreneurship and General Studies (DE&GS), National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), has  organised and hosted an innovative and entrepreneurship challenge to spotlight the prowess of its incubatee entrepreneurs.

The event was held on August 15, 2023, with a total of 10 students with exceptional talents drawn from the seven incubation centres across the country.

They participated in the contest where each displayed his/her entrepreneurship skills.

A panel of 10 expert assessors, comprising both internal and external authorities, including directors from eight different universities took part in the evaluation process.

According to the director, DE&GS, Dr. Samuel Awolumate, the assessment benchmark covered various pivotal dimensions, notably a well-conceived approach to solving Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and a clear demarcation from existing solutions.

It also included the current state of idea development, a comprehensive market analysis integrating SWOT analysis and strategic considerations, finance feasibility and sustainability deliberations, as well as assessment of overall comportment.

At the end of the competition, three students from the north-central and south-west incubation centres clinched the first three positions and will proceed  to represent NOUN in the north-central universities competition.

They would later move on to participate in the prestigious all universities in Nigeria competition.
