Surulere centre embarks on advocacy visit

The team comprising of the director of the newly-commissioned Surulere Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Lagos State, Prof. Yemisi Ogunlela, and other staff members, has embarked on an advocacy campaign to the National Institute of Sport (NIS).

The director was accompanied by centre’s accountant, Mr. Tunde Ojediran, and the councillor, Mrs. Abimbola A. Alli, amongst other staffers of the centre were present during the event.

Ogunlela, in her opening speech, appreciated the staff of the institute for welcoming her team and the privilege to speak to them about the university.

She remarked that the NOUN’s programmes are being accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and encouraged the staff of the institute to take the opportunity of the centre's closeness and enrol in programs of their choice.

The director added that the university is open, flexible and affordable, even as other officers took turns to address the audience that culminated in to the session of questions and answers.

Surulere advocacy visit

In his response,the director-general of the institute, Prof. Olawale, A. Moronkola, welcomed the director and her entourage, saying that "The institute was already planning to partner with NOUN, in integrating the institute programmes into NOUN."

Moronkola used the opportunity to encourage his staff to take the opportunity presented by the university in upgrading their studies.

At the end of the discussions, the Surulere centre director presented NOUN souvenirs to their host.
