No fewer than 30 academic staff of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) will be participating in the Master Class Digital Education training by the Africa Centre of Excellence on Technology Enhanced Learning (ACETEL).
The centre director, Prof. Grace Jokthan disclosed this during a chart with NOUN News in her office at the headquarters of the University in Jabi Abuja.
“The six-month training slated to start on Monday, 31 January 2022 and run up to June 2022, is aimed at equipping participants with digital skills that is pedagogical, and multimedia integrated,’’ she stated.
According to her, the first phase of the training, which started mid-last year, had three identified staff of the university trained as techno pedagogical specialists.
The Centre for Competence in Digital Education (C-CODE) project Lead, Prof. Christine Ofulue also stated that the project is in three phases that cuts across training of faculty in digital education, experts and technicians.
‘‘It is expected that this project will improve the level of expertise of our staff in producing pedagogical content for the institution and also have a ripple effect in Nigeria,’’ Ofulue added.
