Asaga-Ohafia centre takes advocacy to palace, erects signposts

The Management of the Asaga-Ohafia Community Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Abia State, has extended its advocacy campaign to the Palace of His Royal Majesty (HRM), the Eze-Ogidan of Amuma Ohafia Ancient Kingdom, Dr. Emmanuel Kalu.

The advocacy visit, conducted n Thursday, April 20, 2023, was led by the director of the centre, Dr. Nkanta U. Kalu and was aimed at sensitising the community on the operations and activities of NOUN.

“The visit is also part of the centre’s advocacy campaigns to expand visibility of NOUN,” Kalu said.

The director emphasised on the benefits of affordability, accessibility, cost effectiveness an individual stands to gain once enrolled in NOUN.

He further appealed to HRM to use his good office in ensuring that people in his community enrol in NOUN as the centre is located within his domain.

In his response, the HRM expressed his appreciation and satisfaction with the visit, while pledging his commitment in ensuring that students would enrol at the centre.

The Asaga- Ohafia chieftain also expressed optimism that the exercise would attract influx of students.

Meanwhile, the centre has up its aggressive advocacy campaign by strategically erecting different signposts within Ohafia and its environs.
