The university’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Dr. Moh’d Aliyu Paiko disclosed this when he led a 6-man delegation on a courtesy visit to the NOUN Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters in his office, at the university headquarters in Abuja.

According to Paiko, the thrust of the visit was to deliberate and seek partnership with NOUN to facilitate the smooth running of an e-learning platform already developed by IBBUL in collaboration with Astria Learning.

Paiko added that the university is equally ready to receive capacity building training for its selected staff in the areas that would enhance and strengthen their e-learning programmes.

“We are here to see how we can learn and leverage on NOUN’s 80% e-learning platform. We have developed the on-line content with Astria Learning; (we’ve) gone ahead to start and choose our PG with eight different courses. We have applied to NUC and made our intentions known to them, but all these efforts seem fruitless,” he said.

Speaking further about the need of e-learning and capacity building partnership for its selected staff, the DVC stated that NOUN has an unparalleled widespread in every nook and cranny of the country.

“And we are meant to understand by the Chairperson, Senate Committee on Course Content Delivery System, Prof. Monioluwa Olaniyi that NOUN is the centre of excellence not only on e-learning but also on capacity training, as it is facilitating its 80% online approved courses to 100%.

“We are ready to collaborate, learn from NOUN and to sign MoU on other things we can benefit,’’ he added.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Femi Peters, in his response, welcomed the delegation for the courtesy visit and indicated the university’s willingness to partner with IBBUL.

He said “We are confident to say, we are ready to offer our expertise on e-learning and others. I want to say without any iota of doubt that you have come to the right place, there is no other university in Nigeria today that has the skill, capacity and expertise to deliver online.

‘’There is no private provider that will come to frighten us in the area of online because we have expertise, which is the essence of our establishment: to lead this area of delivery and share knowledge and expertise with other Nigerian universities,’’ he said.

Peters further assured them of the capacity training, “whatever training that you may require, be assured that we will provide for you, whatever MoU that may be signed, we are ready to do that in a speed of time,” he added.
