Isulo centre takes advocacy to Innoson boss

The Management of Isulo Community Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), has paid an advocacy visit to the residence of Dr. Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing Limited in Nnewi, Anambra State. 

Acting Centre Director, Dr. Georgina Ogbonna, who led the team and was accompanied by the centre's staff, expressed satisfaction about the warm reception accorded to them by the host. 

Ogbonna, in her speech, used the opportunity to congratulate Chukwuma on the occasion of his conferment with an honorary doctorate degree in Business Administration by NOUN during the institution's 13th Convocation Ceremony held on Saturday, April 13, 2024. 

While describing the recognition given to him as a welcome development, Ogbonna also thanked the university management for counting him worthy to have accorded him with such a unique honour. 

She said that Chukwuma's profile, antecedents and philanthropic demonstrations speak volume and advised him not to relent in his service to God and humanity. 

To this end, the Acting Director solicited for his assistance in providing an operational vehicle that would enhance the centre's mobility as well as the need to consider the possibility of establishing NOUN Community Study Centre in Nnewi. 

She reiterated that Nnewi and its environs need the presence of a NOUN centre so as to enable them benefit from the advantages of the university's flexibility, pace and convenience.

In his response, Chukwuma, welcomed the centre's advocacy visit and applauded the institution's continued efforts for expanding the frontiers of education to those who seek knowledge. 

He concurred with the centre, expressing much interest on the centre's request, adding that he needs to discuss same to his business managers. 

On the issue of establishing a NOUN centre in Nnewi, Chukwuma stated that such proposal would be for the next year’s consideration.
