The Directorate of Entrepreneurship and General Studies (DEGS), South-west Incubation Centre, National Open University of Nigeria(NOUN), has organised a contest for business exhibitions as well as products and services presentations among six of its incubatees.
The incubation centre director, Dr. Amusa Jamiu Oluwadamilare said the motive of the contest among the incubatees was to showcase their business ideal and to open the window of success by empowering the best CEOs in the region, which will lead to contest in zonal and of the national levels.
He said the six incubatees in the contest were to exhibit their products and services for the best to.
The chairman of the occasion, who is also the Director of McCarthy Study Centre, Prof. Rotimi Ogidan, said GST 302 programme was organised for the youth.
"They should have the mind of innovation, putting ideas together, creating business ideas, and leading to building the nation. Our goal is to provide words of encouragement to the incubatees" he said.
Six contestants from the study centres participated in the product exhibition and presentation competition, which are: production of organic zobo, organic kunu, fried plantain chips, packaging of local rice (Ofada), tailoring and fabric design, black seed oil, and ointments/ balms.
The panel of judges, comprising of directors from study centres, and the duo of CEOs of organisations, examined, corrected and gave recommendations where necessary to the contestants.
Ogidan, at the end of the competition, commended them for their thrilling presentations and declared that Monsura Abdulrahman, a 400-level student of BSc. Entrepreneurship, who produced the black seed extracted oil and ointment health as the winner.
